YOSHIKI’s Crystal Piano Auctioned Off at 11 Million Yen

After 7 days of bidding and 5 days of a temporary shutdown, the charity auction for X Japan leader YOSHIKI’s crystal piano has sold at a final bidding price of 11 million and 1000 yen on April 28th.
The auction began April 17th on Yahoo! Auctions Japan at a starting price of 1 yen. When bids skyrocketed to an unbelievable 6 billion yen ($73 million/€50 million) on the 19th, Yahoo! temporarily suspended the auction to auction to confirm the credibility of bidders.
After all fake bids had been thrown out, the price of the piano dropped to 53,057,000 yen ($650,000/€445,000), and the auction reopened on the 25th for four more days of bidding. The winning bid was made at 11,001,000 yen ($135,000 USD/€91,000) on Thursday.
Money raised from the auction will be donated to 2011 Tohoku earthquake relief efforts.
