YOSHIKI attends press conference for “Blood Red Dragon” at Comic-Con

On July 21st, X-JAPAN’s YOSHIKI appeared at a press conference for the American comic, “Blood Red Dragon“, at Comic-Con in San Diego.
“Blood Red Dragon” is a story about a rock star who transforms into a superhero after playing a certain note on the piano; he then strives to defeat the powers of darkness. The character was made in YOSHIKI’s image, while comic creator Stan Lee wrote and cartoonist Todd MacFarlane illustrated the comic.
YOSHIKI, Lee, and MacFarlane appeared in front of an audience of about 2,000 people. It’s said that they’ve already received several offers for a movie adaptation, and that “Blood Red Dragon” could “overthrow Batman!!” Additionally, staff on location distributed an advanced edition with a built-in music chip (featuring music composed by YOSHIKI) to the audience.
Former X bassist TAIJI passed away on July 17th, which drew concerns of YOSHIKI’s possible absence from this press conference. However, YOSHIKI strongly emphasized, “Show must go on!
