Ayumi Hamasaki has set another record by selling the most music DVDs of any artist.
With the release of the Oricon sales figures, Ayumi Hamasaki has proven herself to be an unbeatable force in the Japanese music industry by becoming the top selling artist in terms of music DVD sales. The record was previously held by Morning Musume who have sold 2.303 million units. Ayumi Hamasaki has sold 2.313 million units.
Ayumi's DVD sales were given a boost when she released two live DVDs on April 20th. The DVDs, "A 50 SINGLES ~LIVE SELECTION~" and "ayumi hamasaki Rock' n' Roll Circus Tour FINAL ~7days Special~", sold 9,000 and 6,000 units respectively, pushing Ayumi's DVD sales total 10,000 units above Morning Musume's.
The new record occurs a week after Ayumi set another record last week when her 4 new remix albums all charted in the top 10. This was the record for most albums by the same artist in the top 10 album chart.
